Bike Servicing
A good servicing routine for your bike, particularly if you use it regularly, would ensure safety and extended life of frame and components.

M Check (Basic Safety Check)

Before setting off on your bike you should always carry out the M check. It takes about 30 seconds to do and will ensure your bike is safe to ride.

  • Check Wheels and Tyres
Ensure that your wheels are correctly fitted into the forks and frame, ensuring that all Quick Release or wheel nuts are done up tightly and that the wheel isn't loose. Check that the tyres are inflated to the correct pressure and that the tyre is in good condition.
  • Brakes and Handle Bars

Check that both brakes are working effectivly and that the Handle bars are not loose.
  • Seat and Crank area
Ensure that the pedals, cranks, and seat are not loose or in danger of falling off.

After Every Ride

Clean your bike with an eco friendly bike cleaner (such as P1ssezee) This will ensure that you don't damage disc pads or the enviroment and will help to protect your bike. Wipe the chain with a dry rag and apply a good quality lubricant (in Summer use Dry Lube and Winter use Wet Lube). Check the bike over for any signs of damage or wear and tear.

Check and lubricate crankarms, pedals, chainring bolts, seat bolt, seatpost bolt, stem bolts, handlebar bolts. Lubricate the pivot points in all levers and both the front / rear mech. Lubricate the brake and gear inner cables

6 Monthly / After every 1000 Miles

Check all brake pads for wear, degrease chain, cassette and chain rings with a citrus degreaser and then re lube. Check chain and cassette for wear, replace as needed.
